Every Monday evening, mentors and children meet up to grab a slize of pizza and then disperse to fill the classrooms and hallways of Inner City Church. Mentors and children chat about how the child is doing at school and at home while they eat. Soon, the pair cracks open a book to read or hunches over an incomplete homework assignment. As the child finishes, the mentor pulls out a Character First card and talks with the child about positive character traits from a Christian perspective. The pair prays together then heads off to find a game to play or a football to throw.
